Previous Session – Thurs 28 May 2020
Our third professional development session on Zoom, ‘Broadcasting Your Campaign’ brings together an A-list panel of specialists to help guide our audience of travel PR professionals through the broadcasting maze.
This fascinating one-hour webinar considers what opportunities exist for memorable broadcast PR campaigns with discussion topics including: Why are there hardly any ‘travel’ programmes anymore? How to pitch a TV series? How to proactively sell in spokespeople as experts for news and features? What are the rules on commerciality? Are the glory days of sending TV crews to destinations for a week of reports and competitions gone for good? Does radio offer greater scope for interviews and destination ideas? Finally, are the rules so tight that you should consider hiring content creators instead, focusing your investment on social results rather than broadcast coverage?
Now Covid-19 has potentially reached a turning point we will consider what ideas might soon get taken up, and which must wait. We’ll also consider whether this a new golden age for broadcast campaigns, or whether greater scrutiny means it’s going to be harder than ever to generate exposure through traditional channels, meaning the time has come to exploit new ones.
