Biography

Claire Irvin is Head of Travel at the Telegraph where she leads a team of expert travel journalists focused on engaging, informing and inspiring readers with quality travel journalism based on trust, expertise and inspiration. Telegraph Travel’s award-winning travel content is available in print, online, social media, video and podcasts and speaks to the full breadth of the Daily Telegraph’s discerning audience. Irvin, who has been described by rival the Times as one of the 50 most influential women in the UK, has spent her career driving editorial innovation. She was previously Editor of some of the UK’s best loved magazines including SHE, Company, ELLEgirl and Sugar and Editor at Large of Grazia – roles which have also given her ample chance to indulge her passion for travel journalism and speaking to a wide demographic of readers. She lives in rural Cambridgeshire with husband Stuart, Amelie, 12, Charley, 8, ponies, four goats and a long suffering cat.

Ben Ross is the Deputy Head of Travel at Telegraph Media Group. He began writing about travel in 2001, becoming Travel Editor of The Independent newspaper in 2007 and Head of Travel for the Independent, the Independent on Sunday and the i paper in 2011. He joined The Telegraph in 2014, and is responsible for editorial content across both of the Telegraph’s weekend travel sections.

Nick Trend has been on the Telegraph Travel desk for 25 years and is now The Telegraph’s Chief Consumer and Culture Editor. He also writes regularly, including a weekly column on topical travel issues.

He has steered TravMedia’s growth, launching IMM in 2013 – now a global event for TravMedia.com – and launching the TravMedia Awards this year with his team.

Henry is a former travel journalist with over 25 years’ experience of journalism, PR and news distribution, and is a recognised communications expert. He lives in Sussex and is a keen photographer, naturalist, and Beatles fan.
