Biography
Amelia Duggan has been an in-house editor and freelance features writer for National Geographic Traveller since 2015. She returned from a two-year spell as a freelance writer in November 2019 to assume the role of Acting Deputy Editor and, in May this year, took on the additional responsibilities of Online Content Editor. In these roles, Amelia oversees the commissioning of features for both print and digital. As a writer, Amelia has gained recognition as Young Travel Writer of the Year and Specialist Travel Writer of the Year (for her work on Latin America) at the Travel Media Awards, and was nominated for Travel Writer of the Year at the AITO Awards and Print Writer of the Year at the BSME Talent Awards. Previous roles include reporter for The Santiago Times and Assistant Editor for ABTA Magazine.
Biography
Laura, a journalist for over 20 years, took over as travel editor of Metro’s Escape section in November 2018, upholding its title as National Tabloid Travel Section of the Year for the 4th time in a row less than a year later. She started her career at GQ and has subsequently worked on titles ranging from Red and Cosmopolitan to Marie Claire. For the past few years she’s been specialising in food and travel, appearing in titles including the Telegraph, the Evening Standard, City AM, the Independent, Sainsburys magazine, Square Mile, Hedge, Escapism, and The Week. Laura has spent her time as a travel writer amassing a collection of questionably tasteful souvenirs from all around the world, which now threatens to take over her entire living room.
Biography
Helen Coffey is a travel editor and writer with eight years’ experience in the industry. Currently deputy head of travel at The Independent, she has previously worked at national titles including The Telegraph, Evening Standard and Daily Express. Her key areas of interest include accessible travel, sustainable travel, city guides and ski features. In 2020, she has set herself the challenge of joining the burgeoning flygskam movement and giving up flying for a year as part of The Independent’s 20 Pledges for 2020 climate change campaign.
Biography
Amanda is the award-winning travel editor of Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, and Boots Health & Beauty magazines. She’s a regular contributor to Family Traveller and the Telegraph, has written seven books, has appeared on TravelGuru.tv, Radio 4’s Traveller’s Tree and Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector. As happy in a VW Camper in Cornwall as she is in a Seychelles hotel, she’s jumped off waterfalls in Bavaria, tracked leopards in Oman, dived with Galapagos sharks, and danced the Trinidad carnival covered in mud!
