We completed our 2023 webinars on a festive high with four top UK travel editors revealing their favourite travel stories and PR pitches of the year.
Editors from leading national media and consumer magazines shared standout stories chosen for their originality, insight, or sheer joy to read. They reviewed the PR pitches that captured their attention, from compelling press releases and feature pitches to dynamic activations and enticing trips.

Caroline McGuire is the Travel Editor at The Sun, and was brought in to launch the Sun Online’s travel section in 2017. The digital team now features five full-time travel writers and its output attracts up to 17 million hits a month, featuring a range of breaking travel news, destination features, reviews and newsy exclusives.
Francisca Kellett
Travel Editor-at-Large, Country & Town House Magazine
Francisca is the Travel Editor-at-Large for Country & Town House Magazine, and was previously the Travel editor at Tatler magazine, and Digital travel editor at The Telegraph Media Group. She writes for a number of the world’s leading publications, including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Times LUXX, National Geographic Traveller and The FT, and is regarded as an industry expert on luxury and sustainable travel. @frankellett
Liz Edwards
Assistant Travel Editor, The Times and The Sunday Times
Liz Edwards is assistant travel editor at the Times and The Sunday Times, where she has worked for four years and in various roles, now focusing on editing, commissioning and writing. Liz was recently named AITO Travel Writer of the Year, a title she won previously when she was associate editor on the Sunday Times Travel Magazine. In the mists of time before that Liz worked on a mixture of food and travel magazines including Olive, Food and Travel and Wanderlust. She’s a frequent traveller to France and Spain and within the UK, is a keen walker and swimmer, often covers family travel and still enjoys bringing food into stories. Liz is proud to have had a cocktail named after her, by the Derbyshire hotel that according to her review served disappointingly weak drinks.

With over 20 years’ experience in travel publishing, Pat has been editor of the award-winning National Geographic Traveller (UK) since 2010 and has overseen the launch, growth and expansion of the brand from print into digital, social, events and partnerships.
